Before you can enjoy the functionality the SoftByte Labs-developed application NameWiz has to offer, you must first get the application off the web and onto your Windows-powered PC. The download weighs in at some 4.8MB, which isn’t very much. The download should not take long to complete, which to my mind is a good thing. I don’t particularly like having to wait a long time for a download to complete.

The second step you must take before you can enjoy the functionality NameWiz provides is to install the application on your Windows-powered PC. NameWiz provides support for several versions of the Microsoft-developed operating system. At the time of writing this and according to the developer, NameWiz provides support for Windows NT4, ME, 9x, 200x, XP and Vista.

Once you’ve gone through the two steps presented above, it is finally time to enjoy the functionality NameWiz provides? What can this application do? Here is the brief and to the point answer: this application allows you to batch rename files.

To better put things in perspective, here is what you can expect to get from NameWiz:

- Replace or remove parts of files’ names

- Preview window that lets you see a selected image file
